SITE ANALYSIS OF GTHW

site analysis of OLD TOWN HALL, OLD CITY HALL & HIGH COURT
City Hall is a municipal building in George Town, Penang, which was formerly the seat of the City Council of George Town

the Old Town Hall – known among locals as the European Club, was primarily used as a venue for the town’s European community where social events, balls, public speeches, drama performances, art exhibitions and concerts were held.

Built in Western architectural style with classical arches, columns, pilasters, quoins, ornamental elements on roof parapet and balustrades, the sunshine yellow double-storey is the oldest municipal building in Penang.

Penang High Court was another one of the heritage building which located in the core zone area. It is part of the Penang Heritage Trail Tour and recently done in process of restoration by Penang authority. This 3 storey high court was painted in white colour was sits in its original corner of two busy roads of Light Street and Farquhar Street. Penang High Court consists of two different building with almost the same design which is Original Heritage Building and Annex building
